The above is the compromise that hopefully all parties accept. The OP has to drive/tow farther than he wants. The family benefits in that everyone including will be there. The family must accept the OP will not be there as long as they prefer however 4 days is better than none.

Yes exactly - we want to make the destination more centralized, which was the original plan. Then, they decided it's easier (for them, the siblings) to just have us drive to MI. Everyone will be camping at a park by a lake...not much around as far as hotels go.
We thought meeting and camping near KC would be fun but immediately got the reaction: "Ugh! What's in KC? What would we even do there? Is there camping? By a lake?"
