How many have you seen at one time

In the early spring of 2010, we did our first Blue Ridge Parkway tour. We used Wally's as a stop most nights and that was good because the two campgrounds we had hoped to use were both still closed due to late winter storms.

The Wally's in Asheville is close to the parkway, kind of noisey, but close none the less. There had been little other traffic on the parkway all day, so I was surprised at the crowd there. There were eight other motorhomes - a mix of A, B & C, a couple or so trailers TT and 5er, and about a dozen (no Joke) car campers. Makes up to about two dozen. They were from all over including Ontario and Manitoba.

Talked to the Chamber of Commerce yesterday and they expect 500000 folks here in Sturgis this next week. The vast MAJORITY will be camping and the majority of those will be DRY camping, so it will eclipse even Quartzsite, if only for a week or so.

X2 You will be hard pressed to see any more anywhere on the planet.
Last year we were there early then went on to Palm Springs were saw well over 1000 RV's heading to Quartzsite.

Those that never go to Walmart are missing a treat. Great people watching along with free parking for your RV. I go to our local WM every weekend, put the slides out, extend the awning, set-up my outside tv, breakout the cold beer, and exlax. :B

Is there a prize for the largest sighting?

I don't go to wal mart, so I can't say how many are in the parking lot.

a pool? wally's have pools? average cost of a campground for us over the past 8-years has been less than $30 per night. don't know the last time you've been in a motel but they're a heckuva lot more than $30 per. well, those that don't throw in bed bugs for free anyway.

Went to our local Wal Mart a couple of weeks ago and off to one end there is a grassy area beyond the parking lot. Saw a group of kids playing in a kiddy pool set up in the grass. Wish I had gotten pictures.

One Wally World right here in town has, (with in short walking distance). Several top class restaurants, a YMCA, with a pool, a lake, a walking trail. There is a spa across the street for DW. A bowling alley, with trampolines for kids. It is a quiet neighborhood, police patroled. $30.00 campground must be bare ground, even the State charges more than that for no amenities except electricity. But you don't have to go to wally world, they don't care. Personally I have never been to one in my life, but I can see its advantages.

at myrtle beach we saw about 6 in the parking lot. most I have seen. I was one of them :)

Too many too count in late June. All RV parks and the whole town of South Fork, CO had to evacuate due to wildfire. Parking lots in adjacent towns were covered with RVs.
