Our "normal" distance for a single day is around 300 miles. But on 3 different occasions, we drove straight through (from Florida back to Indiana), right at 1000 miles. The first time we did that, we said, "Never again". We said that again the second time a couple years later. And then the third time a year after that (Ellsworth, Nebraska to Indiana). But we've learned our lesson. It's just too taxing on us to drive that long. We make the distance, but are so exhausted when we get "there" we can't enjoy anything.
So, as tempting as it may be to rush, even getting home, it simply is NOT worth it, being drug-out once you get there.
300 miles!
