The first year after retirement I drove 450 and get up at o'dark 30 and do it all over again. Then I said what the hell m I doing this for, im retired I dont have to be anywhere on a certain date or time. So I made this rule 2-2-2. 200 miles by 2 o'clock and stay at least 2 days. I have to admit every once in a while a 300 mile day sneaks in. People sometimes ask why did you pick that place and I tell well it was 200 miles from the last place I stayed
I'm not retired but I had the same epiphany.
Why am I making my vacation and endurance challenge? To get somewhere to start my vacation? I am towing my entire vacation behind me.
I don't have to reach or be at my final destination to enjoy my vacation.
With that in mind a slowed down to max. 300 or so miles per day.
Believe it or not there is always something worthwhile in between home and the destination where the water is just as wet and the cooler and fire pit work just as well.
