We started out on the JEEP TRAILS of the high country Arizona which mostly included a utility trailer loaded down with tent camping supplies. Did finally get off the ground with a homemade tent trailer setup. We still love our three room TENT setups and do occasionally head for the woods with it.. This is not sleeping in zip-up sleeping bags but with the invention of folding beds etc we have a pretty modern day layout with our three room 15x12-foot tents. Can watch HDTV everynight...
From that we went to a OFF-ROAD POPUP setup which I still have and also have a fifth wheel trailer which I could not SAFELY pull with my F150 truck and it currently sits in my back yard as a get-away place for us and the visiting grand kids...
My camping love remains tent camping back in the woods somewhere next to the creek. I have three or four favorite high country spots we go to here on the East side of the US with my OFF-ROAD POPUP trailer and 4WD truck...
Have no desire whatsoever to pull a hugh trailer "HOUSE" down the road and put up with all the headaches and expense that goes with all of that. My 4WD truck and OFF-ROAD POPUP trailer gets great gas mileage and we have all the comforts of home where ever we end up at. Just less move around room inside our POPUP trailer which makes us live more outside and enjoy the outside surroundings more.
I am NOT knocking the big trailers/motorhomes - We have many fellow camping friends that have them and its fits their camping lifestyle just perfect - its just a matter of choice with us...
