As soon as I figure a good way, I'll be carting the 14' Alumacraft along. Best fishing boat I ever had, no need to worry about dropping bait or spilling a drink. Take it home and wash it out with a hose.
15hp Johnson, it is older but starts, runs flat out, and trolls good every time.
No double towing in MN with travel trailer--5'er, yes.
If you are using the outboard only occasionally and are transporting off the boat, the lighter 2 stroke makes a lot of sense.
I need to design or buy one of those boat lift/carriers for my truck. That way, I can park the trailer and unload/load the boat by myself.
BTW, I read where you have the Boundary Waters in mind. Lake Saganaga is a nice piece of water and isn't restricted. I've been through all the portages between Moose Lake and Saganaga, all with motorized canoes. Don't know if those connecting lakes are now restricted or not.
