I would venture to guess something is wrong with the system or you are in a very hot climate. 800 watts should get you very close to 60 amps from the controller maybe not at the battery because of its SOC. As I stated earlier my merger 550 watts (as compared to your 800watts) has given me 43 amps on occasion and regularly gives 40amps.
