Again I'll regret replying, I suspect.
Harold, no one in their right mind on a brand new install would mix different format panels such as mono and amorphous. Of course it can be done. That doesn't make it a good idea, and recommending it is ill advised.
I'd love to expand my system even though it more than meets my needs. I would certain add another controller if I did so.

I have seen several applications using both amorphous and monocrystaline, both supplying power to the same controller.
