How much will this cost us?

There isn't enough money to maintain the road surface but there is enough money to plant 50 palm trees at each of numerous on/off ramps of I-95 in Florida. There isn't enough money to maintain the road surface but there is enough money to replace every single mile marker sign, overcrossing street sign, on/off ramp sign, direction arrow sign, speed limit sign (every marker sign) on long stretches of road in Michigan, regardless of the condition of the signs removed. If my house is falling down, I don't spend my money painting the picket fence.

EDIT. Just love it when local politicians say that they are doing something with federal funds, as if that means that we aren't paying for it.
