- wrktfshExplorerIf your using mothballs for rodent prevention try using dryer sheets instead. I use them in the compartments of my boats to deter mice. Works great, smell good. Just place a sheet in all the compartments.
- midnightsadieExplorer IIor fresh cab smells a little like cedar wood.
- VeebyesExplorer IIHow many mothballs & what is the duration of storage?
We have been using the mothball & dryer sheet method for some years now for winter storage November to April. We come back to it & move straight in. There is a slight smell of mothballs after 6 months of being locked up but first thing we do is open all windows.
In a couple of days there is no noticeable smell. Never had a critter problem either. - LynnmorExplorerWe put a mothballs in a number of those ketchup cups from fast food restaurants. Then we place one at each propane burner to ward off spiders since they are attracted to the smell of propane. We write down the location of each so none are missed. Airing out the RV for a few days is all it takes unless mothballs are missed.
- LwiddisExplorer IIwrktfsh's method is what I do.

Well, I won't do That again. I put mothballs inside my B while it was in long term storage. While I'm so happy to resurrect my traveling machine, the smell of mothballs is noxious. Any suggestions?
Two. Lots of fresh air and time. Depending on the state you bought them, they may smell differently. See below.
"Mothballs are nearly 100% active ingredient, and the active ingredient may be either naphthalene or paradichlorobenzene. Each active ingredient can cause different health effects if the exposure is high enough. Mothballs slowly turn from solids to toxic vapor. When you smell mothballs, you are inhaling the insecticide."
Chum lee - theoldwizard1Explorer IIRent an ozone machine.
- CavemanCharlieExplorer IIILots of fresh air and cleaning. Might take awhile to air it out. Might take lots of scrubbing to replace the moth ball smell with cleaner smell.
