How to make a PVC handpump

Came across this nifty video on how to make a hand pump out of PVC pipe. Might be a good back up for those that dry camp or boondock.

Neat, but I bought a spare ShurFlo pump just like the one in my RV and put garden hose connections on it. Works for pumping water into my tank, and if/when my RV's pump dies, I have a replacement on hand.

I use a manual bilge pump for a boat, pumps lots of water, and FAST!

I doubt I could have bought the parts to make one cheaper than buying it was.
  • I know that a lot of people on here complain about the weight of lifting 5 and 6 gallon containers. Thought this was a simple way of moving it. The guy claims you can move several gallons in about a minute and half which is pretty decent I think.
  • This would work great for pumping in freshwater to your RV freshwater tank. This would allow you to measure exactly how much water that you are putting in. I only like to take approx 10 gallons when I take a trip, this cuts way down on the weight.
  • My 'when I get time' list just got a little longer. :)
    Cool idea, thanks.
  • Kinda cool. Thanks for sharing I have saved this one to my RV section on You Tube..
