How To Save That High $ Caulk

I thought I would share this tip:
I bought this tube of Geocel in 2010 for $9. I used a small amount to seal a leak and then sealed it up in a bag with my Food Saver vacuum sealer. I opened it again in 2012 to seal another leak and then resealed it in the same bag.
I had to open it again this morning to seal another leak and it flowed as well as it did the day I bought it.

Each time I use a very small amount so at this rate this tube should last me many years to come.

  • Thanks, I will give this a try. I've been wrapping the ends with a square of good hvac foil tape, with good results. But the sealing bag can only help some more.
  • Great tip! Thank you. I cannot count how many tubes of caulk I have had to throw away because the stuff hardened in the tube. I am going to try this one out! Thanks again. :) :) :)

  • PloFlex is great I have used it for many years. I use the end of a rubber glove and rubber band to seal the end. Works great. Their liquid sealer in the qt is also good.
