How to stop slide topper from sagging?

If I'm parked for an extended period of time I run the slide in after the rain has ended so that the water will run off. I don't worry about it too much until just before I packup to leave then I try to drain off the water and allow the cover to dry before the final rollup, I don't like to store it while it's damp.

Usually, I just bring the slide in to drain the water. But, I have also cut a water noodle just a little longer than the width if the awning, putting a piece under both ends of the awning. The upward bow of the noodles under the awning provide enough lift to cause the water to run off.

Hmmm..... They (the topper companies) should, depending on slide width, incorporate a few cables which connect to the topper roller where the material fits in the groove. Then attach the other end of the cable to where the material connects to the trailer wall. Kinda like how the steps of a ladder look. That way when the slide moves in the short cables will simply roll up in and out with the slide topper just like the material rolls up. The cables are never tightening or loosening but they'll be holding up the topper material in smaller sections and keeping from sagging and dipping over the whole length of the material. Sounds like a legit idea..... Maybe I'll try it. :B

Maybe there are people wondering about toppers. I have had both and I gave my "OPINION" I guess you don't find it useful but some may.
