It's not about Trump. He can't do anything without congress, and congress was elected on this platform. This is the job the voters hired them to do: Repeal Obamacare, privatize Medicare and make individual seniors pay for part of it (a bigger portion each year), and raise the age of eligibility for Medicare. They spelled it out very clearly.
And for RVing, what will it mean? Besides the increased costs to seniors, private health insurance does not cross state lines, except for ER care.
We've had a bunch of discussions about that on this forum. Nobody has found a solution to it yet -- those with private insurance just have to schedule their Dr appointments for the times they are in their domicile state, or pay cash out of pocket for their health care. When Medicare is privatized, that will mean everyone.
Some states have been trying to get private insurance companies to offer plans that can be used in more than one state, but you can't make private companies do something they don't want to do unless you add more government regulation. The GOP congress is not going to be too excited about doing that.
I have not seen any efforts to get companies to provide nationwide insurance.
