I guess we could just carry it on the bed but.....We do not have a back bumper so that option is out. How strong is the ladder attachment; does anyone carry their dish there and, if so, have you had any problems?

For years, I have carried mine in the bed of my truck in front of the fiver hitch.

Ours folds up and goes in the storage compartment

Take it apart, store the small stuff in a suitable tote and the dish and tripod in the storage box.

I, too originally was carrying my dish on the upper bed but it was a very inelegant solution so I did this:Dish Mount

We did have one that would disassemble, but we just got a new one and we carry it on the master bed. It's out of the way and I know DH is going to get it hooked up before the bed is ever used!!!
