My previous TT almost burned up. I turned on the A/C and smoke was pouring out of the wall around the thermostat. I ripped the thermostat off the wall and cut the wires. Nothing was wrong with the A/C or thermostat. It was bad wiring. Manufacturer made connections in the wall. twisted wires together. No wire nuts or any other insulation on connections. Just driving down rough roads apparently caused non insulated wires to come in contact. Manufacturer would not cover under warranty. Probably should have let it burn. TT was 2 months old. Sometimes you get a bad one.
