I-40 Eastbound wreck!! I-40 blocked.

I-40 eastbound Tennessee mile markers 408-422. Bad wreck. Bus and Semi truck. Many fatalities. I-40 closed. Be careful out there. Thoughts and prayers are with the families. East of Knoxville. Traffic exiting at I-81 I-40 interchange.

    And on the same day just up I-81 in VA, a tanker truck hauling 8K gallons of gasoline hit two cars and shut down I-81. Nuts.

    We passed an Eastbound I-40 NC accident involving an 18-wheeler in July. Was so glad it wasn't on our side of the Interstate, because it was blocked for miles into TN.

    As of about 5am this morning the interstate is back open in both directions.

    I saw on evening news.. bus blew out a front tire and crossed center line.
    Cleveland Ohio channel 19....

    That's such a dangerous area. Knoxville is a kind of collection point for I-40, I-75 and I-81. Then add some pretty steep mountains. Lots of semis and lots of travelers. I've been through it many times from Cincinnati.
