Looks like to me they "fixed it" the cheapest way possible. Maybe it will work forever. I could not say. but it sure ain't pretty.
I would not be pleased with that fix on a brand new rig. $2000 rig, 15 years old, that would be a little different. And I would be OK with this fix, but not a brand new one
