It is NOT my intention to bash TPWD!
I am of the opinion that TPWD could do a much better job. From what I see, there is a serious lack of leadership! Once I post my interest at the TPWD website, I follow up with a detailed letter of inquiry of my qualifications to the specific individual at the park. Still no response.
In the cyberspace age, when properly managed, there is NO REASON for any response to take more than one day!
I certainly understand any entity wanting to do the most for the least amount of money. All the more reason for TPWD to respond quickly to individuals who have interest in working for site. What can a site with electricity in a state park be work? $500? And they ask for 25 hours per week? That works out to $5 per hour. And TPWD is not responding to individuals who are interested in volunteering? Consider the value TPWD is getting for a full hook up campsite! Something is definitely wrong with the thinking of TPWD management!
