Does anyone have any idea how many employment applications a business receives? We get tens of thousands electronic applications a month. Most of them are blast sent without any real connection to any position we may have open. It is unrealistic to respond to each and every one. We contact the applicants we are interested in and the rest of the resumes are electronically stored. Probably only 1 in 1000 are ever even seen by a human since they are sorted and graded by employment software. How much better would anyone feel if they got the more than generic "Thank you for your resume, we get many applications for positions at our firm. We will be contacting select applicants for future interviews and will keep your resume on file" e-mail response?
