Not that long ago there was the "classic" body style on GM trucks and the "new" style on other trucks same model year. This issue to ME is a non-issue. Sorry you feel slighted.
Are you saying you paid the 2016 "show price" for your 2017 model? Are you also saying the price on the new style has not changed from the price of the 2016 model? I would expect the updated models also have updated prices, no?
