Did the OP check the VIN to see what model year it indicated? If 2016, and marketed as 2017, then he has a beef. Don't know why some people on here have to be such a-holes.
I'm very shocked how people feel this is acceptable practice. I do not believe people are thoroughly reading the vastness of the situation. I am NOT talking about 2 or 3 minor updates over any given model year.
And my feelings at the time of purchase have no bearing on this what-so-ever. What a ridiculous stance.
And...no one bothered to answer the questions I posted that when answered help understand the degree of difference I have here.
I also NEVER asked for or implied I was seeking a new camper.
I have only asked for a few of the easiest bolt on and replaceable items. And settled on only 2. One was indeed the rear ladder, but they refused to install it. That was insulting to me. Any little bit more and I would have felt better and faded away.
So let's run over this again for those slow movers out there.
I was sold a an RV marketed and titled as a 2017. When 2017 marketing literature was out for 2017 models, a dozen+ changes were made, NONE of which I have. Some are simple, some significant.
My title says 2017 but its a 2016 model. Not ONE of a dozen marekted 2017 updates can be found on my RV. I expect my 2017 model to match 2017 OEM documentation. Its that simple.
If only 2 or 3 things were missing, or even one major thing, I would not have an issue. The list and their marketing of said list is what sets this apart.
As long as so many of you accept this practice and even defend it, it will only get worse for everyone. Wait until it happens to you.
Look, I am not looking for sympathy here. I am looking for attention to create a small wave of change.
If you have fallen victim to this situation (which I know many have) I urge consumers to stand up and file formal complaints with the FTC, BBB and also your States consumer protection department.
read the marketing material. especially the part that states something like the mfg has the right to make changes at any time to the features functions etc. and the marketing material may not reflect the product you are looking at. Period, end of discussion.
Marketing material for my 2015 denali matches what i have but ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT MATCH what is on earlier production versions made before this marketing material came out. A dozen or more significant changes and updates were added mid year.
If you think your changes are minor, look at running changes car and other mfg make. That includes an entirely updated and refined engine mid model year with more HP and torque. do you expect them to update earlier products? NOPE. As long as what is on the invoice for what is on your trailer matches what you got, that's what it is.
Pay attention to the date on the marketing material. they can and do make running changes during the year.
IMHO as long as what is listed on the invoice and (NOT MARKETING MATERIAL), is included in the product, you got what was portrayed and promised to you.
Why can't a mfg improve or change a product as they see fit? That's what they are doing.
BTW when we bought our 2011, they did make several noticeable and nice mid year updates to the trailer. Did it bother me, ABSOLUTELY NOT IN ANY WAY!!!! PERIOD. The updates were nice, agreed, but I got exactly what was on the invoice for the trailer I got, and knew exactly I was buying.
Likewise on several cars I bought where there were noticeable changes made and shown in liturate later in the year after I bought it. So be it. No big deal, I knew what I got.
Gee, if you had a ladder and they deleted it later in the year, would you like it removed to make it like the advertising??
