I drove off with the antenna up...
Now I have a broken antenna. Are there alternatives to the crank up antennas? I'd rather have one stuck to a window or something else that can't be damaged. Thanks!

The two bars on the crank-up assy is a rather easy change out thing... Just remove two E-CLIPS on the other side of this photo showing where the two pins are located. The two bars then can removed for repair or replacement.. It is doubtful the mechanism is damaged - only the bars and the antenna perhaps.
I agree with the others you may not like the performance you will get from your OTA if it is not raised up off the roof...
Here is what the JACK Antenna will look like mounted to the same two bars the BATWING antenna was using...
Of course we are all poking in the dark not knowing which antenna got damaged...
