After that, in the case you suggest, a 2,250 pound trailer is going to weigh more than that with propane and basic gear. Add in food, gear, passengers, etc.. in the Equinox and you will be quickly overweight. Personally, I would not tow anything but a small utility trailer with a 4 cal engine - but to each their own.
