I spent about $1k on another solar panel and batteries over the winter and I believe I'll get it back in reduced camping fees. Already, we spent 3 days at a no hookup national park for $45 (geezer pass). That's less than one night at a typical private park.
It may be a savings over private parks, but my brother says he averages about $20 a night (geezer prices) with full hookup at Corps of Engineers and similar public parks. That seems like a better deal than $15 a night to use a solar setup. What's the advantage to your approach? Do you like the settings better in the national parks?
