I don't see much advantage with an RV but we had one on the boat and loved it.
An RV being simple gravity feed system really doesn't benefit much as it's so easy to dump and there isn't a lot to break with the standard system.
On a boat, toilets are more complicated and subject to clogging and failures. Plus it's less convenient to find a legal place to empty. Even worse, they stink (yeah, people claim there's doesn't but haven't been on a boat where the marine head doesn't stink to various degrees). A composting toilet solves a lot of issues there. No smell and it holds 3-4 weeks of solids making disposal much easier. Plus the only moving parts are a trap door and a crank to stir the contents.
It's far from a kitty litter box.
