My pup and my first 2 TT's had manual awnings. Never had any problems with them, and adjusted to the status quo. Didn't matter what anyone else had either. I was happy.
New Outback came with an electric awning. It definitely is easier, just push a button. But the one thing that is really sweet about the electric awning is, in the middle of the night, if it starts to rain heavy, or if the wind pick up too much, just push the button. Don't have to go outside at all. I know it's dark out there, but still I really don't need to give the neighbor camper a cheap thrill by seeing me outside in my underware, hustling to get the awning in before it gets damaged due to the weather!
Both are OK. They both have advantages and disadvantages. I'll enjoy the one I've got right now. The future may change, until then, .... be happy!
