Don't quite understand why rain is considered an issue with a power awning, that's when we use our's the most. For those with an auto retract, they can just turn it off.
My friend's power awning (as do many others I've seen) pretty much extends out horizontally, parallel to the ground and will only provide shelter from a very light rain or rain that is driven from street side to curb side. And when it dumps, watch out -- anything within eight feet or so of the end of the awning gets wet from the splash. Maybe there's something wrong with his awning, but the way it works seems to be the way it was designed to work.
