We had manual awnings on our previous RVs and I never had a bit of trouble putting them up or down and liked how the deflappers added a bit more security. Our 5er now has an electric awning and I really like how I can wind it out just about a quarter of the way to stop the rain from coming in the door by just pressing the button. I did this quite a bit last May. But since the wind was also "breezing" some, I didn't want to put it all the way out. Worked perfectly!!!
That said, it is rare that we deploy the awning here in Wyoming. The wind has a bad reputation here and it is justly deserved. I wish we could use it all the time but sigh..................
