Well, I've been through a few "snowbird parks" this winter and there seemed to be a lot of planting going on. Southern Oaks in Summerfield FL (close to The Villages) has plenty of sites where the residents were planting. Same in Crystal River at Rock Crusher Canyon.
Also in these types of park, they have activities designed to get people together; poker, bingo, tours etc. Yes, these people are older, but not dead. Sounds like you need to look at one of these parks.
