A funny story too. On our first camping trip back in the late 1970's we went to an oceanside campground and set up our tent and fly. We only had one toddler then although my wife was pregnant with our second. I then walked to the comfort station and saw a beautiful new VW Westfalia van set up next to the rest station complete with a canopy. The young couple were seated at the table inside sipping wine from wine glasses. When I returned, I told my wife to look at it next time she made the trip. I told her, "That's how we will be camping in 5 years".
When she returned she told me to walk a little further and observe the folks camping on the other side of the rest station as that was how she saw us camping in 5 years.
As I strolled past I saw an early 60's Falcon station wagon in a site with a large green army surplus tent. There were too many kids to count but they all seemed like they they were enjoying themselves except for the 2 who were crying for some reason. Our reality was actually in between the 2 scenarios but it is a good life!
