I remember when we loaded 7 kids in the '60 Chevy impala wagon and headed to the beach for the weekend. We had a large canvas we used for a wind/sun break. No tent. You slept either in the car or under the canvas. Us younger kids played all day while the older folks surf fished. We gathered driftwood for a bonfire every evening. Now you can't even drive in that beach.
