My neighbor had one blow out in the spare tire holder. That does not make me want to rush out and buy a set.
The NEW Carlisle Radial Trail RH has less reported failures than the Maxxis ST tires on this forum. Why don't you guys ever mention that FACT?
I might purchase a set AFTER they have proven that they hold up long term.
Your neighbor had a spare tire blowout how many years ago?
Like I said they new tires might be the next best thing to sliced bread. But I still have a image of how lousy of tire they use to be. I have run Goodyear's and never had a issue while others have had a lot of problems with them.
A negative image is hard to overcome no matter what the brand.
I bought a used trailer that had blowout damage. It tore a hole in the plywood floor, bent up the metal skirt on the bottom of trailer, tore up the plastic fender and tore the rear stabilizer jack off.
A blowout can do a lot of damage very fast.
That was before the NEW PRODUCT. He was using the OLD PRODUCT and abusing it going 75mph. You can go faster with the NEW PRODUCT (with additional inflation). With all due respect Sir, this forum amazes when one makes a comment-and then another asks a few simple questions to find out the poster isn't even talking about the same product THAT'S MADE TODAY.
That's why people are leaving this forum in droves....
It's about knocking a product that hasn't been produced in years....and recommending a product (Maxxis) with recent failures.
What a waste.
When you buy a lousy product Regardless of brand you are unlikely to purchase that product in the future even though it's not the same product.
A negative image is hard to overcome regardless of brand.
Look how long it took Firestone to recover from the Ford Explorer fiasco.
Trust in a product is earned by being reliable. It takes a while to earn trust once its been compromised.
