A heads up to all RVers using SR-55 through Cascade. DOT has reduced the axle weight for ALL vehicles on the north bridge to 9K/axle and will be further reducing it to 6K/axle this week.
These weights are not correct. The weights are 27 tons and 40 tons or 54,000 lbs and 80,000b lbs.
That's what I was thinking.
6K/axle will limit many pickups with campers, and nearly all RV's.
Reading the article it appears that 9 Tons per axle, or 18K lbs.
From the ITD website.
The bridge, at approximately milepost 116, will feature a limit of 27 tons for a regular double axle, and 40 tons for a larger, unit-3 vehicle, with a limit per axle of nine tons
