So they are reducing from 9 tons per axle to 6K lbs per axle? That's a big decrease.
Even your first post says 9K lbs per axle, which does not match the IDT press release of 9 tons per axle. That typo makes it appear that the 6K limit you posted should really be 6 tons, especially considering they are talking about GVW's of 27 tons. To get to 27 tons at 6K an axle would take 9 axles, more than about every vehicle I have seen on the road. The 27 ton limit is for double axle rigs, 3 total axles at 9 tons and axle works out pretty well.
