I get asked for ID at most hotels, but only one or two ever Photo copied it, and they were not very nice. If I had not got there after 6:00 PM unable to cancel my reservation I would have walked! I only stayed one night at each.
One was a Radisson, and had a tile shower surround,the maintenance person had covered the mold stained grout lines freehand with a can of white spray paint!!!:S

Um, no...can't remember that ever being done. And I have stayed at a ton of hotels.

I have never had any campground make a copy of my DL either, I believe I would move on...

One swipe through their reader is all it takes! Photocopy not necessary.

I don't think I've ever had a hotel make a copy of my ID. They just ask to see it.

I have had that request.

I have never had that done at a hotel. Show the ID to verify you are the real credit card holder, yes. Copies, no.

Have had them ask to see it, but never had them photocopy it. Think I would just move on down the road.

I did and asked the guy why and he said it is a "homeland security" thing. This was at GATEWAY RV IN JASPER, FL. I said thats funny as you are the first one to ever do that. I won't stay there again.
