It would be wise to give the rangers a call in a week,I hope you have their names, and ask how the case is progressing.

I am afraid it will get "forgotten" and no action taken if you let it.

If there is an animal control department in the area, they should be involved also. Most LEO's are happy to turn dog bite cases over to animal control.
