I'm just curious. Maybe there are good reasons for leaving lights on.
A lot of suburban neighborhoods are lit up like airport landing strips, and it supposedly helps keep the burglars away. People are used to that, and fear coyotes howling far more than gangs exchanging gunfire on a hot Saturday night.
However, in the country, the thieves tend to be where the goodies are, and usually if someone is boondocking it, the bad guys are either going to use overwhelming force on the person boondocking, or they are going to leave them alone (especially in Texas where even the family dog has a holster.) So, lighting up the night like 747s are coming in is pointless.
