If you can find a campground with facilities in an area like that I wanna know where it is!
Here's and old, old so-called "resort" campground on a lake that in certain parts of it come really close. Some of the older sites around the lake edge, or slightly back from the water, are a hundred or more feet from each other but have a 20 amp electric outlet and water faucet at each site that are barely sticking up above the grass.
20 amps is plenty enough for these "kindof boondocking feel" campsites and you could run all the scaredi-kat lights you want without blasting your far away neighbors. Probably drink enough beer and eat enough ribs to work up a real loud talk, too, and they would hardly hear ya. Fire smoke is long gone before it's vapors reach the neighbors, too.
But ya have to come to good old CA to get it ... you probably can't stay back East and find one like it. ;)
P.S. Fantastic bass fishing ... and you get to tie up your boat right next to your campsite all week ... or the kids can fish right from the shore for panfish, trout, or bass:
