IKEA Mattresses

Does anyone here have experience with an IKEA mattress in your RV? If so, what did you get and how do you like it? How thick did you get, and was that thick enough? Memory foam or latex foam, I assume that is personal preference anyway. We will get to the store and try them out, but it never hurts to hear how they have worked out for other folks.

We just bought this one. It is a little too firm for us but we like the support. We will get one of the egg crate toppers for a little cushion.
  • We use a memory foam topper. We have had 2. It does depend on the quality. The first one was great - lasted 20 years. The recent puchase - different name brand with cooling gel is okay right now, but will probably last only a year or so and need to be replaced. The density of the foam matters and it should be heavy to lift if it is dense. That's what we had the first time.
  • We just picked up a memory foam topper this week and are trying it this weekend. I'll leave feedback by Monday.
  • Can't directly answer any of your specific questions but my son has had his for about 5 years and still loves it.
  • I got an 8" memory foam one off of Amazon for a little under $200 and it's awesome. Probably more comfortable than the mattress in our house.
  • I have tried them out in the store, but when it came to purchasing for our RV, I went with a Spa Sensations 8" Gel Memory Foam from Walmart. It was $200, delivered to my door, in about 3 days. It has been in our RV since 3 days after purchase and we have spent 100+ nights on it for the last 5 years. Still feels great.

When we upgrade our RV, hopefully sometime next year, I will order another one to put in it.
