Images of factory mattress insides and new mattress inside.

The old mattress had a dip where I slept and where the wife slept.
The image below is what was inside.
1.5" of fiber stuff.
3" of fiber in the middle.
1.5" of fiber below.
The fiber was breaking down.
The trailer is 6 years old with an average of about 60-90 nights average use per year.

The images below is showing when I pinch the fiber together along the edge.

I replaced this mattress with one from Walmart called "Spa Sensations". The 10" thick one.
I had to remove the cover to trim down the size to fit. Used a Kitchen electric meat carving knife. Works, very well!

We both sleep very well on this mattress.
10' thick may be over kill. Will consider the 8" thick one if and when the current one wears out.
Hope this helpful for someone.

  • We never once slept on the original mattress. After purchasing the new RV the next stop was for a real mattress.
  • We have been sleeping on the foam mattresses for years now, and have enjoyed it. You are right, the 10" is a bit much, as we seem to sink in too much to suit us. The one on top is good, maybe with another about 2" under it.
