Actually I am going to try the same thing for different reasons. I register in NY so an annual inspection is necessary. My MH may not be back to NYS for 2 - 3 years.
The inspection is good for one year only. This would leave me liable for tickets in states that choose to be aggressive about my need for an inspection. I researched the law on this and any state I pass through would be able to ticket me for no inspection not just NY. So I will try to register in a more liberal(registration wise) state
