There isn't a lot of difference in a Dodge 2500 vs 3500 SRW in 2005.
Many here (myself included) will argue that the real limitations on your rig are your axle and tire weight ratings, which you are likely well under.
I towed about 16000 pounds with my 2003 Dodge 3500 for 9 years, and never felt unsafe. I will admit that towing that weight with my current truck is much more comfortable though.
