Sorry but your truck is NOT rated for THAT weight of a trailer......numbers are just NOT there.
I have a 3500 w/5.9L and that weight of trailer would be too heavy.
My 14K (13,873# scaled weight) puts my truck over GVWR and right at RAWR/Rear Tire Max Load Ratings.
That trailer starts out DRY (empty...as it let factory) at 13,455# which is only 145# under the MAX TOW RATING of a 2005 2500 (max tow based on entry level trim---regular cab)
A 2005 2500 Quad Cab SLT Longbed 4X2 5.9L Auto w/4:10 is only rated for 13,250# (Max TOW.......under the DRY weight of that Cardinal which has a GVWR of 16,0603)
2005 2500
**GVWR----9000#....going to be at least 1000# over just with dry weight of 5vr
**MAX PAYLOAD ----2385# (depends on trim level----look for YOUR trucks Cargo Carrying Capacity ---payload----on sticker drivers door jamb) 2385# payload is amount of weight you can put inside truck ---people/pets/backpacks--bags etc. The weight in bed of truck----5th wheel hitch AND the WET PIN weight of trailer (wet being with trailer loaded up camp ready)
**Dry hitch weight is listed at 2380#.........only 5# less then you have for MAX payload and that is nobody/nothing in truck or trailer
**RAWR----6010#.....going to be over several 100s# when truck is loaded up and hitched up to dry trailer due to pin weight
*Truck Rear Tires....MAX Load Rating @max PSI......depends on size/type tire ~6800# or LESS----gonna be at/over max rating due to pin weight
**GCVWR------20,000# (truck 7000# loaded and 14K trailer (DRY)...over by 1000# and you haven't even put a toothbrush in 5th wheel
Nice 5th wheel
Nice truck
Wrong combo by long shot.
Not enough truck.....too much trailer
Those are the numbers.....what you decide to do :H
