Had a visit yesterday from a tax man from the Texas omptroller's office. He wanted to know if we were sub-contractors or employees of Gate Guards. My wife told him she thought we be sub-contractors. He said if that's so you need a tax permit to work and you will be fined for not having a permit last year. I let Melissa know and she asked me not to tell them anything about Gate Guards. The man called back and said he had talked to someone in the Corpus office and was told they thought we were employees of Gate Guards but wanted to hear that from me. He said if I was a sub-contractor I would have to obtain a permit and pay the fine he had mailed. Prior to his telephone call I checked with a few other gate guards and they had not been contacted. I tried to get him to tell me why I was the only one he had visited but he wouldn't say. He3 said I was the first he contacted. I did check and he is from the Comptroller's office.
