- GGupExplorerI went to SA this morning at 5 am and headed back about noon...on I-35 to Dilley...Moore was getting MORE RAIN and HARD...then Pearsall got heavy rain with it coming down hard all the time but harder there. When I got to Dilley, the NEW Super 8 that opened today had the ground floor flooded and cars water bound. Road with water over it and when I tried to go out on 117 toward Batesville and got to my dirt turnoff the road had a "river" running over it and about 3' of water. 4X4's and semi trucks were plowing through and about that time they were giving tornado warnings for Witsett (Sp) and NE then Hess man told me a couple of trailers had been blown over and about 30' from where they were. Not sure where that was but think to the SW of Dilley. My wife was on the gate and we had 5++ inches of rain today! That is on top of the 2" we had the other day.
I had to catch a ride to the gate with a tanker...left car in town. Big BIG Thunder heads off to the SE and those to the South are now gone. Still think we will get more tonight. Will button the hatches. My Dish for TV went down but I set it up and WALA we had a picture!!!! Surprised me.
So we are safe up to this point and I did get the car brakes fixed...so was a good trip...wife just had a bad day. - john_and_terryExplorerWe had a funnel cloud almost touch down between us and the rig. It was right next to a tornado. Formed right where it was supposed to in the wall cloud...textbook! I told DW to get ready because we were about to beat cheeks! It just never quite formed...wasn't quite "organized" enough.
What followed was straight line winds that almost tore the top off of our motor home. It literally is held by Eternabond. I'll post pics as soon as I get a chance. Calling insurance company and trying to figure out what to do at this point. I doesn't appear to be leaking inside, but I promise you it's leaking down the wall.
Ripped the seam from stem to stern all except what was Eternabonded. Funny now...not so much earlier.
Then round two...another wall cloud not 20 minutes later tracked exactly the same path as the first, but it was far too disorganized. Even attracted the attention of a storm spotter who stopped at the gate to watch it.
At this point we're thinking we might as well stay put until the adjuster makes it out in a couple of days.
Stay safe everyone!! - The_TexanExplorerWell, we survived round one. Had over 4" rain, golf ball sized hail and a deep river under the RV and toad, with water up to the bottom of both the RV and toad. Lost our 2 porch platforms, rugs, boot scraper, pallets we had laid out to keep our electrical lines out of the water, etc. Our road is washed out and Pioneer is calling out the dirt boys to haul in rock to fill in the gaping holes at the new culvert they just installed. All of this in less than 60 minutes. They say the worst is to come tonight, wonderful.
- Don_SharExplorerOur 3 1/2 mile mud bog is back and we are getting rain (don't need any more) Tilden was getting hit hard. One of the workers came in said they were getting 3" to 4" hail close to Tilden. Lots of standing water but dry around the pad we are on. Storm seems to be passing east of us so far.
On another note I talked to the ranch owner on Monday...he was not aware that Swift was closing the gate on Thursday. Well after a call from him they are not closing the gate...looks like we will stay put till we leave the end of June. - The_TexanExplorerLightening and thunder big time right now in Three Rivers. According to the radar, there is a "sever" thunderstorm approaching right now.......Hunker down time.
- abusman40ExplorerGet ready for more storms as it's supposed to start tonight and carry over to Friday and be worse than the last storm.
Up side for us is that the rain shuts down about three of the operations and we have less traffic until it drys enough for them to start again. - mickholdExplorerHere on Hwy 97 close to Fowlerton, we got heavy rain, lots of lighting/thunder. Everything is very muddy today. We are still getting light rain. Ofcourse this is shift change day for Ensign so lots of traffic in and out.
We are 43 miles South of Pleasanton and 6 miles north of Fowlerton.
There has been several new gate guards in this area, any of you on the forum. Maybe we could meet and exchange our stories of gate guarding.
Mickey Holder - GGupExplorerHad HIGH winds and rain...very BIG drops at times then settled into nice rain. No gauge up...have it up now. Thunder can be heard and it is getting darker...I saw by AccuWeather that we should get 2.8" of rain...will see.
Wind took down all our signs and chairs and ....
Not muddy as it was so dry. The other day the water truck sprayed water and within 20 minutes we had dust again. I could not believe that.
Guess they will put pumpers on these 3 wells...NG is not pushing the oil to the top strong enough. - Blondie_GirlExplorerWe are 10 miles west of Karnes City off 99..We got a lot of lightning, but just enough rain to make things wet, but not muddy.
We are moving Wed 4 miles south of Whitsett..rig will start moving Thurs. The forecast says rain and storms, so it could really be a big mess for us for a few days. - The_TexanExplorerVery light rain here in Three Rivers with NO lightening or thunder. We could see the heavy stuff north of us, up by Pleasanton.
