[COLOR=]Does anyone know someone that would GG for a day or so? My wife is being operated on this morning in San Antonio for her appendix. So need someone to take my gate for a day or so.
Just never figure for these type of emergencies!!!!
I had surgery Dec 2 but we knew a few days ahead.
We are 8 miles East of Big Wells.
Probably too late now; but our account person said she has someone just for that purpose. Find out who services your account for GGS. BTW, we use ours for any extraordinary issues we have. She seems able to 'crack' the communication wall for us.:) - mdbassExplorer

Has anyone obtained passports while here in Texas? We are from Missouri but might like to get a passport to visit Mexico in between or after doing the gate guard thing. I know most larger post offices do passports, but is there any other place or method to obtain them while we are gate guarding?
Thanks

If you are with GGS, call Roger and tell him you need a relief for that. They will put someone at your gate for as long as needed.

Just posted on another forum:
Red Horse Protection, Inc. is also hiring in Texas.
We expanded our security services to gas well sites in 2010 and we're currently looking for RVers interested in gate guard work.
Send your note of interest and any questions to sales@redhorseprotection.com and we will be in contact shortly.
Please include the following:
Name
Phone number
Whether you are currently licensed in Texas
If you have ever worked as a gate guard
We also have individual guard positions available. These positions are 12 hour shifts and are typically in a guard shack. You do not need an RV for these positions.
I emailed them, then they called me back...
Seems like they are an employment agency and had no interest in gate guard service and promptly hung up on me.
Did anyone else get this response?
I got no response, period. - The_TexanExplorerI emailed them with the info they asked, plus, I asked a whole bunch of questions about what they provided to their gate guards and have not heard one word back from them. Strike them from the list.....

Just was NOT interested for the winter for sure. Agree that it is beautiful in parts of PA in Spring and Fall.
