- Blondie_GirlExplorerWe'e been with GGS over 1 1/2 years and have had excellent service working out of the Whitsett yard. Their equipment sure looks better than any others I've seen out there.
It seems like the guard companies that are paying higher have some very busy gates, so think about it before you change over. More money might mean a lot more work. - abusman40Explorer

Well, after 3 rigs with GGS, that certainly hasn't been our experience. Jamie and all the support people have always been very responsive to anything we need.
As far as the "low pay", LOMA told us in April they were no longer paying $150, just $125 for all new hires. And from talking to other gate guards we know, it seems like the higher the pay, the lower the service and support.
It seems that Loma has no real base pay based on what we experienced with them and what we've heard from other Gate Guards working/or did work for Loma.
As for poor service Loma's maintenance man we understand was terminate from Timekeepers which had developed a reputation for poor service. At one time Loma's fuel and water delivery was being handled by one person trying to service about 60 gates. You never really knew when he was going to show up. - Don_SharExplorerI have been with GGS only this year but
Low pay....what do you expect for just registering license plates?
Bad service....I don't blame the service men they work very hard to keep up.
We did have a time when we were getting bad service but not because the service people won't work....our service man was being put on a gate where they had no Gate Guards.
I am pleased with the work, pay and service we get from Corrizzo Springs. - GGupExplorerGGS have been with them for 2 years and none of the problems mentioned or listed. Gen was always working and serviced on regular basis. Sewage was pumped as requested...water delivered when nearly out. Pay always on time. Roger has been my contact and know with expansion of the oil business and the picking up of new gates that they are working many hours to keep up.
When we return this Fall it is with the idea of still working for them. As for a single person on a gate....I do not know how that works...Not the norm but because of the need...there are people trying to man the gate being single person.
Most of the "snowbirds" left...we left June 1st as planned. I know of a couple more that are leaving for the summer. Employment is good in TX Oil Field.
Sorry some of you have had bad experiences with gates and GGS but I know of many that will return this Fall and Winter months. - ChaosAgentExplorer

Can you elaborate?
............(1)Low pay , i.e. $125 a day , (2)Slow or no timely service of gens , fresh water fills and sewer service by gate guard service personnel , (3)Overloading\workload of a single gate guard by GG company with 2 or 3 rigs using a single gate and NO Additional compensation for their additional work load . Lack of basic respect shown by management personnel\service personnel towards gate guards and their particular needs ! (4)Any combination of all of the above ! , jf

Sorry, it's not politically correct for me to do so. - ChaosAgentExplorer

Can you elaborate? - Irish_01ExplorerSeems to be a lot of "code speak" regarding Gate Guard Companies. Looking to start around August and a more clear picture would be helpful.

Any one looking for a job, call Gate Guard Services at 361-949-6992 and talk to Patty. They are down about 4 gate guards today, because they took over gates that another company lost....
They're short, too, because they have gate guards leaving them because of intolerable circumstances.
