The OP is asking about the receivers that go into the base plate. I don't have them but my buddy does. He removes them at my recommendation. You want to keep them out of the elements as much as possible. The last thing you want is for the pins and spring locks to freeze up on you from corrosion. It only takes 10 seconds to twist them out.
