Sounds like this is you first pass at electrical work?
If so might get an electrician to look over when done if doing DIY. Keep in mind installing a new breaker requires correct space in breaker panel, and opening a LIVE electrical panel with 240 Volts and a ton of amps that can kill. Even if you throw the Main the leads to the main are still HOT.
One just to have some caution and Common Sense when doing electrical work.
